Join Rebuilding Hope (RH) and the Washington Department of Commerce's Office of Crime Victims' Advocacy (OCVA) at the February 2025 Virtual Sexual Assault Advocate Core Training!
This 30-hour, two section training will satisfy OCVA's mandatory training requirements for advocates supporting victims of sexual violence, assault, and abuse. Current OCVA standards require that all Washington state advocates complete this training prior to providing direct service to clients at their organization. Participants must demonstrate participation through all live sessions in order to receive certification.
The training provides new advocates both a philosophical base, centered on survivor empowerment, as well as a skills base, enhancing advocates' ability to provide intervention and services to sexual assault survivors.
This training event will provide the same information and credentials previously provided by the Washington Coalition of Sexual Assault Programs (WCSAP) Advocate Core.
Register now to get started! Our staff will connect you with the self-paced first section of training, to be counted as 8 hours toward your Advocate Core certification. This portion must be completed and the resulting certification submitted no later than Friday, February 21st, 2025
On February 24th - 28th Rebuilding Hope will host the live second section of Advocate Core. Participants must actively participate in all four days in order to receive credit and certification. Rebuilding Hope staff will provide support in how to demonstrate active participation and reserve the right to determine if an attendee meets the expectations. Please be advised that certification will be provided only to those attendees who meet participation expectations.
Each of the four days is scheduled to begin at 9:00am and to end at 5pm; and we're providing time for lunch, breaks, and presenter transitions.
Advocate Core is available to all Washington residents for a $175 fee. However, for our OCVA-funded colleagues receiving Statewide Impact grant funds, this training and certification are offered free of charge. If you have any questions, submit them to RH Education program staff at [email protected] .
