Experience woodworking in the age of the Vikings in this unique hands-on workshop with archaeologist and craftsman Marc Cox. Spend the day in the shadow of the Viking Longhall exploring Viking Age carpentry, practicing the skills of our ancestors and discovering how they used traditional tools to make buildings and furniture.
During the workshop you will learn the ancient art of hewing timber using a variety of early medieval axes. You will also spend time exploring the finer points of joinery to make an archaeologically-inspired stool to take home.
Suitable for beginners, but be aware this will be a fairly physical day.
Booking required, £80 per person.
