In this slow stitching workshop you will be creating a one of a kind journal wrap. This is a hands on experience and slow stitching is about enjoying the process and not worrying about the end product as we learn to embrace the imperfections.
Don’t worry if you’ve not sewn before, if you can thread a needle you can sew.
I will guide you through each step and there are no complicated stitches involved.
Taking our time to create a layout of fabric, moving and placing them until we are happy with the way it looks and stitching can then begin.
Slow stitching is great at helping us slow down and relax and to unleash our creativity. It’s an ancient practice and has its roots in different cultures.
So as the name tells us it’s about slowing down and not rushing. So you can take everything you need to finish your wrap at home at your own pace.
Everything is provided to make your journal wrap.
Fabrics, wadding, trims, beads, ribbons, threads and a journal.
You are welcome to bring some of your favourite embellishments.
These wraps are a great way to use up what we have so we shall have a mix of new and recycled items.
Snacks and drinks will be provided throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch.
