About this Event
Vessel Sculpting at Epic Art House is your chance to create a unique and functional pieces of art from scratch.
Embark on a hands-on artistic journey with our newest workshop, Vessel Sculpting! This interactive experience seamlessly blends creativity, problem solving, and authentic pottery skills.
In this 2-hour ceramics workshop, you'll receive guided instruction on how to sculpt your own cup, mug, jar, plate or other vessel by hand. This will allow you to add details and pesonality that are impossible to achieve with other ceramic creation methods.
This is not just a pottery class; it's a relaxing, therapuetic, and yet engaging night out. You'll leave with a tangible, one-of-a-kind creation that you can use in your home for years to come.

Your creation will be fired in our kiln after the class and you can return on a later date to glaze (color) it and have it fired again.

Our Vessel Sculpting Workshop is a unique opportunity to create something special with friends, family, or a date. Epic Art House is a community-driven organization dedicated to fostering connection & creativity in Chicago. It's a safe space that is family friendly and uplifting.
What to Bring
- Wear clothing that you don't mind getting a little dirty. Sometimes the clay can splash onto shoes and clothing.
- All clay and tools will be provided, so don't worry about that.
Beginner & Intermediate Friendly
Whether you've never worked with clay before or have some experience, this special clay sculpture workshop will be a great night out. Our amazing teacher will help you get started and guide you through the entire process. All tools and materials are provided.
Message from the Teacher
Bird Mullen
Bird Mullen is currently pursuing his BFA in ceramics at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He focuses on avian-influenced ceramic sculpture and is interested in themes of death, extinction, and ephemerality. Bird is an avid birder and active member of the Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue and the Chicago Bird Collision Monitors.
