I am thrilled to announce that Vassia, one of my favourite dancers, instructors, and choreographers, will be coming to London! On 1st February, she will be teaching two classes at Unit 3 Oval, and I couldn't be more excited to share this with you all.Class 1: Open Solo Class - Flow, Groove, and Rhythm
Time: 11:00 - 12:30
The first class will be an open solo session focused on flow in movement, groove, and rhythms. This class is designed for dancers of all levels. Vassia will guide you through exercises that will help you develop a deeper connection to your body and rhythm, improving your flow and sense of groove. No matter where you are in your dance journey, you'll find something valuable in this class that will elevate your movement and timing. Everyone is welcome!
Class 2: Footwork, Improvisation & Dancing to Faster Tempos
Time: 13:30-15:00
The second class will focus on refining footwork also delving into improvisation and dancing to faster tempos. While this workshop is open to all, it is particularly suited for those who are already comfortable with solo dancing and adapting to quicker rhythms. The session will primarily focus on developing precise, dynamic footwork, helping you build a strong foundation in movement. Toward the end of the class, Vassia will shift the focus to improvisation and dancing to faster tempos, encouraging you to explore your creative expression while maintaining control and fluidity.
Inspiration: Swing Era and Authentic Jazz
Both classes draw inspiration from the iconic dancers and choreographers of the Swing Era, especially the influential female dancers of that time, such as Consuelo Harris and Mable Lee. Vassia will incorporate elements of authentic jazz movement into the classes, honouring the timeless styles and techniques of these great dancers.
