Olarin panimo will be hosting the hottest 1st of May's Eve dance in town! Head to the Konepaja in Vallila on April 30th for an exquisite mix of ska and soul/rock fusion, handed to you by Hatless Cat from Germany and Helsinki's own Sofia Memphis and Kerjääjät. Tickets from the door 10 €.

Hatless Cat
Vuonna 2008 perustettu Hatless Cat on vakiinnuttanut asemansa yhtenä Berliinin DIY-ska-skenen kulmakivistä. Bändi esittää omaa saksankielistä materiaaliaan persoonallisella otteella, jossa kuuluvat myös pop- ja jazz-vaikutteet. Kahden naislaulajan liidaama tanssipoppoo on viimeksi vieraillut Suomessa vuonna 2019. Nyt bändi saapuu juhlistamaan helsinkiläisen Kerjääjät-yhtyeen kanssa julkaistavaa split-ep:tään kolmen keikan minikiertueella, joka lähtee liikkeellä vappuaattona Olarin Panimolta Helsingistä ja jatkuu vapunpäivänä Tampereen Maanalaisessa, missä mukana on myös Mansen oma Voimaryhmä. Lauantaina 2.5. Suomen kiertely huipentuu Lahden Tirraan, missä lavalle nousee myös paikallinen ylpeys HowSka Orchestra!
Hatless Cat has been doing their own distinctive mix of ska with a dash of pop and jazz since 2008. Led by two female singers, they perform their own material spiced up with a well-chosen cover here and there. During the years the band has secured their place as one of the cornerstones of Berlin's DIY ska scene. Hatless Cat returns to Finland following their first visit in 2019 to celebrate the release of their split EP with the finnish band Kerjääjät. The show at Olarin panimo launches a three night mini tour that continues on 1st of May at Maanalainen in Tampere, where the bands are joined by the local ska institution Voimaryhmä. On Saturday May 2nd you can still catch the bare-headed felines at Tirra in Lahti, together with Lahti's own HowSka Orchestra!

Sofia Memphis on rytmivetoinen rockbändi, jonka tekeminen nojaa tiukkaan yhteissoittoon, soulin lämpöön ja liikkeen tuntuun. Kappaleissa kuuluu autotallirockin roso ja juurimusiikin ote. Sofia Memphis johdattaa sut hellästi mutta napakasti, joraten tunnelmasta toiseen. Sydän aina rytmissä.

Kerjääjät
Kerjääjät on soittanut hirtehistä rytmimusiikkiaan suomalaisen ska-skenen marginaalissa jo vuodesta 2009. Räyhähenkinen solisti ja tukeva torvisektio takaavat railakkaan keikkameiningin. Seitsenhenkinen yhtye esittää omia suomenkielisiä kappaleitaan, ja sen debyyttialbumi Älytöntä suunnittelua ilmestyi 2016. Kerjääjät on keikkaillut kotimaan lisäksi myös Saksassa ja Englannissa. Bändi julkaisee keväällä 2026 splitti-EP:n berliiniläisen Hatless Catin kanssa, ja julkaisua juhlistavien Suomen-keikkojen jälkeen painuu studioon työstämään seuraavaa pitkäsoittoaan.
Kerjääjät has been playing their take on ska with a macabre twist in the margins of the Finnish ska scene since 2009. A hyperactive vocalist and a hearty horn section are some of the hallmarks of the group. Kerjääjät play their own songs in Finnish, influenced by punk and pop. The group’s debut album Älytöntä suunnittelua ("Unintelligent Design") was released in 2016. Outside Finland, Kerjääjät has been touring in Germany and Britain. Kerjääjät will release a split EP with Hatless Cat in the spring of 2026. After the record release celebrations they are heading to the studio to work on their next LP.
