About this Event
March 5 from 5 - 8 pm, featuring drinks and snacks provided by the Arthouse Hotel, and live music by singer songwriter Jack West!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
"Vanishing Point," a photography exhibit of the icebergs and glaciers of Torres del Paine Glacial Lake, Chile, by New York photographer David Waage, with Art Direction by Keith Ketwaroo, opens March 5 at the Arthouse Hotel in New York.
The group of eight photographs were taken in 2004, before the most severe impact of climate change.
"These pictures feel like a time capsule of a beautiful but sadly vanishing point of the natural world. Blue, blue, blue - it's a shade of blue I have never seen before and have never seen since. I hope the beauty of these icy formations can serve as a meditation on what we are losing to climate change, because the view today would be different, and the view tomorrow will be even more altered," Waage said.
David Waage is a New York - based photographer and has published extensive editorial work in fashion, travel, and portraiture. He has shown work in solo and group shows in New York, Rome, Venice, Los Angeles, and Minnesota.
Working with fellow photographer Keith Ketwaroo, they have also created work displayed at the Fridge Art Fair editions in Miami and New York. Their series "80s Icons," featuring reimaginations of photo shoots of Freddy Mercury, George Michael, and Pee Wee Herman, has been well received by fair attendees.
