About this Event
This presentation reframes project management around its ultimate purpose: enabling benefits management and realisation (BMR). While project success is historically judged by delivery performance, organisations actually do projects to achieve outcomes and measurable business value. This session bridges that gap, showing how effective project management underpins successful benefit achievement.
Attendees will be introduced to BMR in clear, practical terms—what it is, why it matters, and how it extends well beyond project completion. It will clarify how BMR aligns with, rather than replaces, the traditional project delivery lifecycle familiar to PMI practitioners.
There is a strong focus on roles and accountabilities. Attendees will understand who owns benefits, how governance should focus on outcomes, and how project managers influence benefits through delivery decisions even though they do not “own” the benefits directly.
Real-world practices will be explored, including how benefits are defined, planned, monitored, and sustained beyond delivery. The presentation will look at how integrated strategic delivery platforms, such as Amplify Now, support the connection between strategy, initiatives, projects, and benefits—improving visibility, traceability, and value‑based decision‑making across the investment lifecycle.
Attendees can expect to gain a clearer perspective on:
(i) how their project management capabilities contribute directly to organisational value generation.
(ii) practical insights they can apply immediately.
(iii) a forward-looking view of how the project and program management profession is focussing more on outcomes and benefits enablement.
