Steve Pottinger
is a founding member of Wolverhampton arts collective Poets, Prattlers, and Pandemonialists. His work regularly appears online in Yorkshire Bylines and CultureMatters, and has won prizes or been commended in national and international poetry competitions. His seventh volume of poems ‘snapshots from the fall of home’ is out now.
Emma Purshouse
is an award winning freelance writer, novelist and performance poet. She is also a poetry slam champion and was the first Poet Laureate for the City of Wolverhampton (2020 – 2022). In 2021 Emma’s poem ‘Catherine Eddowes Tin Box as a Key Witness’ came 3rd in the National Poetry Competition. Her latest collection 'Unsung' has recently been published by Offa's Press.
Dave Pitt
is a performance poet, playwright, a third of the Poets, Prattlers and Pandemonialists, and a fifth of Stories From the Smoke Room. He's also Wolverhampton's Arena Theatre Associate Artist, as well as being a lively MC.
Cheryl Prince
Uncovering stories across lifetimes, dimensions, and realities
Cheryl is a Luton-born playwright, performer, poet, producer, and founder of 5D Theatre, creating supernatural thriller work that blends multidimensional storytelling with social inquiry.
At UTTER!, she will share spoken-word performance pieces that reclaim working-class lost languages, uncover the hidden histories of cunning folk healers and awaken voices of silenced women.
Karene Horner Hughes
is a spoken word artist with a passion for nature and its beauty, and identity and its complexity. She loves the use of rhyme and aims to make her poetry as accessible as possible. Poetry can be fun, poignant and challenging all at once.
