Join the University of Tennessee, College of Nursing for the Pinning Ceremony for our Bachelor of Science May graduates. This special event marks the moment when graduates receive their nursing pins, symbolizing their entry into the profession of nursing. The nursing pin, a symbol with a history spanning over 1,000 years, represents service to others and has become a distinctive mark of nursing excellence.
When: May 16
Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Knoxville Convention Center
Who: All BSN May Graduates of the College of Nursing
Parking: 11 Street Garage, please note that parking is first come, first serve. You are encouraged to carpool to campus if possible. We cannot guarantee parking.
Dress Code: Graduation gowns, stoles, NO caps. Business casual attire is to be worn under your gown.
Pins: Information about purchasing nursing pins is forthcoming and we will update students when information becomes available.
A reception with light refreshments will follow the pinning ceremony with opportunities to connect and take photos with friends and family. This is a free event, but guests are limited to four per student.
Important Note: Commencement is separate from the Pinning Ceremony. Students are invited to attend but must register for both separately.
