This workshop offers an introduction to genograms, an anthropological tool for mapping kinship structures that has been adapted for general use. Participants will learn how genograms can illuminate intergenerational patterns of attachment, maladaptive coping, and trauma responses that often operate outside of conscious awareness. By visualizing these patterns, genograms can support psychotherapy and psychedelic exploration, helping individuals situate personal experiences within larger familial and historical systems. This process can offer meaningful pathways for reflection, integration, meaning-making, and ancestral healing.Participants are invited to engage at their own pace, sharing only what feels safe and appropriate. Grounding practices and resourcing options will be woven throughout the session, with time for questions at the end.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a notebook and colored pens or pencils to create their own genograms. Some materials will also be provided for group use.
