So many of us know the feelings of stress and helplessness when we come across an animal in need of help…particularly when we're unsure how to do just that. This definitely holds true for our wildlife friends, as well.
Wishbone Animal Rights Lab will be hosting a two-day wildlife rescue workshop -- because there was just far too much valuable information to cover in just one two-hour session! -- with presentations by both experienced rescuers and some of the leading wildlife rescue, rehab, and release experts in Ontario: Toronto Wildlife Centre, Shades of Hope, FLAP, and more to be announced!
Attendees will gain useful insights on how to effectively assist injured, distressed, and orphaned animals; be armed with species-specific tips regarding some of the common animals we may encounter throughout Ontario; acquire a better understanding of animal behaviour, including busting a number of the myths surrounding wildlife; and lots of general tips on ways to keep wildlife safe from harm and making a meaningful and positive difference in their lives.
Wishbone Animal Rights Lab is a volunteer-driven, largely self-funded initiative. Donations allow us to host more community-building events, develop more programming, conduct more workshops, create more content, purchase more equipment and literature, and cover our monthly hard costs.
FYI: The McKnight Building, approaching its 100th birthday, boasts one of Toronto's last operator-required elevators. Meaning that during weekends, the elevator rests unless prior arrangements are made and an hourly fee is paid. If assistance to the 3rd floor is needed, contact us, and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
