Urban Triage is organizing its inaugural Black Brilliance Gala on May 17, 2024. This event will be held at the Overture Center for the Arts and will offer an evening of elegant dining, entertainment, and music. The gala aims to recognize and celebrate the efforts of those who have made significant contributions to our community but have yet to receive the recognition they deserve. The proceeds from the gala will be used to further our workforce development initiative, "Supporting Healthy Black Employment".The Supporting Healthy Black Employment initiative aims to improve job opportunities for vulnerable communities, particularly Black individuals. This initiative is in partnership with the Prodigal System Academy, which offers carpentry training courses specializing in wood framing. Participants in this program will gain the necessary skills for residential and commercial carpentry careers. Upon completing the program, graduates will receive OSHA certification and job placement assistance with local construction firms. This initiative not only provides transformative education but also includes personal and professional leadership skills, as well as wrap-around support.
