About this Event
Art that raises visibility for our movement.
Deeply mindful organizing work with culture at the core.
We are going back to lineage.

Experience the power of storytelling through movement with Urban Bush Women’s Pop-Up Performances at Legacy, Lineage, and Liberation: An Examination of Urban Bush Women’s Art-Making and Community Organizing Praxis exhibition. As we celebrate 40 years of bold, transformative artistry, these intimate performances bring UBW’s legacy to life—honoring the stories, struggles, and triumphs of Black women+ through dance, rhythm, and communal expression.
Rooted in the company’s fusion of dance, theater, and song, these pop-ups activate the exhibition space with dynamic, spontaneous movement moments, bridging past, present, and future. Witness the spirit of UBW in motion, where every gesture holds history and every step ignites possibility.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a standing-room-only event, and there will be no designated seating. If you or a guest require accessibility support, we are here to ensure your comfort. Contact us in advance at [email protected], and we will gladly accommodate your needs.
