Upcycled Notebook Making Workshop

Learn how to turn scrap wrappers into a crafty mini notebook!

In this workshop, Anh Tran of kamipaper will guide you to upcycle sweet and snack wrappers to design and weave onto your own notebook cover. She will then show you how to bind it together with folded paper and using a coptic stitch binding to create an upcycled weave mini notebook that you can take home to use.

This workshop is designed for adult beginners, no prior experience or knowledge is needed. All materials will be provided, there is no need to bring anything to the workshop, although you’re welcome to bring any plastic wrapper waste that you'd like to weave onto your notebook covers.

Tickets include complimentary tea - to accompany your notebook making - from NEMI Teas, a London-based social enterprise focusing on empowering refugees in the UK.

About Kamipaper

Anh Tran is a bookbinder, zinester, artworker and community arts facilitator. Her interests include the East and Southeast Asian (ESEA) diaspora, gardening and being kind to the environment. Her creative practice, kamipaper makes handmade blank notebooks using upcycled materials, upcycled sewn creations and self-published zines. She has run upcycling bookbinding and weaving workshops at places such as Museum of the Home, Natural History Museum and Bow Arts Trust. She made a zine about a family run Chinese takeaway in London to share more ESEA stories to the public and recently was a community co-curator for Nana’s House - an interactive living room installation at London College of Fashion about East London.
