About this Event
The University of Kansas (KU) mock oral workshop and review course serves to provide current residents and recent graduates preparing for the radiation oncology oral board exam a robust means of assessing their current knowledge level and to provide a collegial venue that simulates the oral board examination.
During the Saturday mock oral workshop, each participant will be placed in a simulated exam setting with invited physician experts from both academic and community-based practices. During each case-based session, the examiner will systematically go through standardized, disease site-specific cases with the examinee, followed by brief oral feedback.
Sunday's mock oral review course involves each disease site lead providing a 30-minute presentation which reviews the cases from the mock oral workshop. This lecture-style setting welcomes inquiries and discussion from examinees to provide deeper understanding and evaluation of the content.
Constructive written feedback will also be provided via a standardized, computer-based scoring system, made available to the examinee 4-5 days after the conclusion of the course. By garnering more experience in this exam setting, the examinee can gain insight into their strengths, as well as any areas that could use more attention.
