Co.ERASGA’s Undivided Colours returns! An evening dance showcase to celebrate Asian Heritage Month of May 2026. This year features performances by Co.ERASGA, Kasandra La
China, Sujit Vidya, Toronto’s Dream Walker Dance/Andrea Nann, and Victoria’s Bayanihan Creative Collective. Embark on a journey through a rich tapestry of diverse and vibrant dance heritages,
including Bharatanatyam, Asian Flamenco, Filipino, and contemporary dance. These multicultural performances explore stories of identity and heritage through contemporary
voices, celebrating the power and influence of Asian roots and the expressive power of dance.

The artists:
Company ERASGA presents two solo works from “Offering,” featuring Filipino Canadian dancers Alvin Tolentino and Marc Arboleda. These two short solo dances serve as a spiritual offering and a prayer for the world and humanity.
DreamWalker Dance/Andrea Nann’s “Firehorse and Shadow” is guided by the spirit of the Horse and the shifting elements of fire, earth, metal, water, and wood. The dance embodies a felt cycle of holding and releasing, yielding and rupturing, where the body becomes both vessel and transformation.
Sujit Vaidya presents “Ram Gopal,” a solo dance inquiry exploring the intersection of memory, inheritance, and authorship. This performance serves as both a tribute and an evolution, engaging in a dialogue across gurus, time, and the dual aspects of the divine.
Kasandra La China’s powerful performance in “United Elements” explores the journey of uniting the fragmented parts of ourselves. Through flamenco dance, movement, voice, and sound, the audience is invited to witness and experience the harmonious blending of our inner and outer worlds. This piece uses flamenco as a metaphor for life itself, transforming our inner struggles into beauty and strength.
Victoria’s Bayanihan Creative Collective, a newly formed performance ensemble, presents and excerpts Maria Cacao: Ang Pagbawi (The Restoration). This work blends theatre and dance, exploring mythology, the struggle against climate disasters, and the theme of endurance.
Undivided Colours is made possible and generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, BC Arts Council, BC Gaming Commission, City of Vancouver, and The Dance Centre. A heartfelt thank you to Co.ERASGA’s individual members, donors and sponsors.
