Understanding Non-Monogamy for Therapists

This two-hour presentation covers the basics of non-monogamy, biases to look out for as a practitioner, and when to challenge your clients.

For Whom?

This workshop is designed for therapists, and other client-facing professionals, to better understand non-monogamy for working with non-monogamous clients. It is beginner-level with some intermediate concepts.

Yes, you can attend the workshop if you don't fall into the above category! Just be aware that that is who is is geared toward.

When + Where?

This workshop will take place on Monday, 12/9, at 4-6pm PT (7-9pm ET).

Everyone who signs up will receive a recording, so you do not have to attend live (although I'd love for you to!).

It will take place on Zoom.

What About?

This workshop addresses several overarching concepts:

What are the different types of non-monogamy?
What makes non-monogamy so hard for folks?
How are we socialized under mononormativity?
Which biases do we hold about non-monogamy, from society and training?
What should we challenge clients on in their thinking or practice?
What role does attachment play in non-monogamy?

What Format?

This workshop will last approximately two hours. While it is heavy on being a unilateral educational presentation, there are also moments for group discussion and questions.

What Is + Isn't This?

It is important for me to name that this group is not therapy and that I am not a mental health professional. This group is being guided by the following principles and facilitator skill sets: sex and relationship education, holistic life coaching, and peer support.

Who Is Our Facilitator?

Melissa A. Fabello, PhD is a relationship coach who believes in the transformative power of shared information. With over 15 years of experience as an educator, she brings to her programming a validating, passionate, and humorous approach, creating an inviting atmosphere for deep processing. Melissa is a certified life coach, and she holds a PhD in Human Sexuality Studies.

Payment is based on a tier system. Please select the price point that makes sense for your financial situation, with the knowledge that the higher price points donate to the lower price points.
