Understanding Dyslexia – An Evening Talk & Discussion
Come and join us for an informative and welcoming evening at the , exploring dyslexia and related learning differences.
This session offers a clear and compassionate introduction to dyslexia, with space for questions and open discussion in a relaxed setting.
The discussion will cover:
- How dyslexic children and adults think and perceive the world
- Why letters and numbers are sometimes reversed
- Why small and simple words like the, saw, there, how, why cause confusions for dyslexic learners
- Why words may be missed when reading and writing
- Common challenges with comprehension, maths, attention, time management and social skills
- What parents, carers and teachers can do to support dyslexic learners
Whether you are dyslexic yourself, support a child, or simply want to understand dyslexia more deeply, this evening is an opportunity to learn from an experienced specialist and gain practical insight.
Meet Our Expert –
Nina Pitoska has been working with dyslexic children and adults for over 20 years. She is also a qualified maths teacher, with more than 15 years’ teaching experience up to A-level mathematics.
Her work is based on the teachings of Ron Davis, bestselling author of The Gift of Dyslexia. Based in Queen’s Park, Nina supports children and adults with dyslexia, ADHD and other related learning differences.
