We are offering free, insightful and informative training to anyone who works with people experiencing problematic drug & alcohol use

This training will be delivered by Louise Martin from NSFT.
Provided by Norfolk County Council in collaboration with Change Grow Live.
Face to face session - no virtual alternative.
Location: Norman Centre, Bignold Rd, Norwich, NR3 2QZ

Time: Arrival 08:45, Training 9:00 - 13:00

Tea/coffee will be available, but we are unable to provide lunch so please bring your own.
Parking available on site.
In this 4 hour workshop we will cover:

An introduction to the biopsychosocial model of mental health difficulties.
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and how these can contribute to later difficulties with both mental health and substance use.
Basic neurobiology of substance use.
Introduction to psychosis, emotionally unstable personality disorder, PTSD, depression and anxiety – how these can interact with substance use, with a focus on how they can maintain each other.
Time to explore your role in relation to these difficulties.

If you book a place and do not attend in full, you will be charged a fee of £100.

Each attendee will get a ‘Certificate of Attendance’ once the feedback form is completed following the event.

Additonally, please note that due to the sensitive nature of this training course, delegates might feel anxious or upset by some of the course content if it relates to their own experiences. It is essential that they are aware of the course content beforehand, to be emotionally prepared for the day. Please ensure that all delegates read this course outline ahead of the training. They will be able to step out during the session if needed. There is no requirement for delegates to share personal experiences on this course.
