About this Event
Join us at the table for 4-course dinner and small chops (hors d'oeuvres) on Saturday, October 25th, at Rily Kitchen, showcasing Afro-Caribbean cuisine with expert pairings by Steve Byfield of Nyarai Cellars - Canada's only black owned wine company.
The menu designed by Chef Marc Kusitor and Funmilade Taiwo (FT), marries their West African and Caribbean roots with seasonal Ontario produce. From braised oxtail Haitian Paté to their Jollof dish that pulls on influences from all over West Africa, ending with a fermented corn dessert reminiscent of Ogi from Nigeria, Hausa Koko from Ghana, and Akasan from Haiti, they're putting their roots on the plate.
We can't wait for you to try it!
Allergens:
The menu is made with gluten, fish, mushroom and dairy. The menu will be made shellfish and peanut-free; we are unable to accommodate any other allergies or dietary restrictions.

About Marc Kusitor
Marc Kusitor is a private chef and owner of ChopTime Catering who after stints in various kitchens across Ontario became interested in exploring the possibilities in the space between tradition and innovation in Afro-Caribbean cuisine. He combines restaurant technique with family recipes and food memories instilled by his Haitian mother and his Ghanaian father - both of whom were great cooks.
About FT
Funmilade Taiwo is a Toronto-based chef and designer, and the founder of Lámurén, a contemporary Nigerian dining brand. He creates intimate dinners and pop-ups that celebrate Nigerian cuisine through a modern, global lens. With each experience, he brings people together through storytelling, flavor, and culture.
