Gain techniques and strategies to manage those spooky feelings!
About this Event
🎃 Monster Bash: Find Your Inner Calm 🎃
Join us for a fun and family-friendly event where you'll learn simple, effective tools to help shift from stress to calm — just in time for spooky season! At the Monster Bash, families will explore playful techniques to downregulate an activated nervous system, build awareness of their internal "state", and discover how to shift into a place of safety, connection, and calm. Through hands-on activities, movement, and mindfulness, kids and grown-ups alike will leave with strategies to better understand their bodies and emotions — and how to support each other through big feelings. Costumes welcome, regulation encouraged!
Upon arrival, participants will receive a passport detailing all the different stations available. Each station will have a description so you can decide which ones you'd like to visit. You’ll get a stamp on your passport at each station, regardless of whether you choose to participate.

Stations include decorating a gingerbread person, visiting a fortune teller, and many more Halloween-themed activities. In addition to all the fun, we’ll also offer opportunities to learn and experience emotion regulation practices. These activities are designed to help participants manage their feelings and navigate Halloween with confidence. Everyone will receive a loot bag.
Our goal is to reduce sugar and fear while maximizing the fun factor of Halloween and promoting emotional well-being!

Please note that our space is not yet fully accessible. While the main floor is accessible in that there are no steps into the building or main floor, the washroom on this level is not designed for wheelchair access. Additionally, there are no elevators or ramps providing access to basement activities. There are steep staircases that we know can pose barriers for people with disabilities, injuries, strollers, walkers, or other physical needs. However, all stations will be managed by qualified staff members or volunteers who are sensitive and attentive to your needs. We can bring activities up to the main level upon request. We also aim to accomodate all sensory, visual, and hearing needs. We are here to assist in any way possible.
We would be happy to help with any special requests or concerns. Don't hesitate to reach out to us beforehand at [email protected]
