In collaboration with East Dunbartonshire Climate Action Hub (EDCAH) attendees will take a local walk, starting and finishing at Twechar Healthy Living & Enterprise Centre (HLEC). Community Mapping is walking in a certain way, looking at physical and social assets, resources, as well as areas of concern. This tool allows us to look at community’s strengths, such as parks, green space, infrastructure and skills, to foster community empowerment, inform planning decisions, and encourage collaboration.
We will walk past the park, through the top scheme, into The Glen, up onto the canal and back along the main street back to HLEC.
I am not sure of miles yet, but I do plan to recce the walk before this event. Most paths are well trodden but good footwear and dress for the weather. Bring a drink if needed.
