Registration is OPEN! We are excited to announce our 6th annual SLO Turf N Surf Goalti two-day hat tournament in beautiful San Luis Obispo.
WHAT: Day 1 is late-afternoon goaltie on grass under the lights (~2p-7p) and Day 2 is morning beach goaltie (~9a-2p). We always follow our Saturday games with a tourney house-party and hot-tubbing (and zip-lining and slip-n-sliding and cold-plunging) and Sunday games with a pancake breakfast! We are limiting total participation to 8 coed teams (80 players) and will have a sliding "cap" on registration to ensure ideal/equal team size at 56, 64, 72, and 80 so register early to ensure entry. Teams will be drafted based on skill and experience to help ensure balance.
Note: We will deprioritize single-day registrations.
Our videographer, Peter, will also be premiering his highlight reel from last year's tourney at the after-party! We try to plan the timing so out-of-towners can drive up Saturday and leave Sunday but we encourage some lingering!
COST: Early bird pricing is $55 prior to April 10 and includes a custom jersey! Same fee after April 10 but no jersey included. Fees include field snacks and water and Saturday/Sunday afterparty. We allow (but don't guarantee) a single reciprocal baggage.

FIELD LOCATION: Saturday will be at Cal Poly Lower Sports Complex (https://maps.app.goo.gl/pBUfnVAapxA6tF2K8) and Sunday will be in Pismo Beach off Wilmar (https://maps.app.goo.gl/ATuHYCydyAXTfwyq8)
TRAVEL and ACCOMMODATIONS: We can arrange FREE housing for many out-of-towners if needed and with advance notice. Anyone staying in free accommodations will be assigned jobs at the tournament as part of the deal. Best local airport is in San Luis Obispo (SBP). We recommend staying in Pismo Beach but anywhere from San Luis Obispo to Arroyo Grande will leave you within 15 minutes of the fields.
HOTELS : Since it's a holiday weekend, hotels will likely book early. I recommend Seacrest (reasonable pricing, awesome views, very close to beach fields) and Lighthouse Suites Pismo (huge rooms that sleep up to 8 people, close to beach fields)
RULES: we will follow the most recent USA goaltimate ruleset (https://www.usagoaltimate.org/full-rule-set) and no shoes on beach (barefoot or sandsocks only). It will be coed and there most likely be no gender matching rules (depending on woman numbers). *
*** HUGE NOTE: This is intended to be a highly competitive tournament. It is NOT appropriate for brand new or inexperienced players. Feel free to reach out if you are unsure. Admin is willing to make these cuts, but we would prefer that people self-select. ALL players under 18 will require admin approval. ****
