Tui T. Sutherland's Wings of Fire FanWing Fest in Portland, OR!

Join on Saturday, May 23, 2026, as we welcome New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Wings of Fire series,, for The Wings of Fire FanWing Fest.

At this one-day festival (running from 9AM-5PM), FanWings will be fully immersed in the world of Wings of Fire through engaging activities, epic photo opportunities, in-depth book discussions, and the camaraderie of fellow fans. At key points throughout the experience, FanWings can meet for a photo op with author , compete in game shows, take part in a costume parade, and enjoy a guest speaker from the Wings of Fire universe. ​

To make this event safe and enjoyable for all attendees, please read the below guidelines ahead of buying a ticket, so you know what to expect on the day. To avoid disappointment, we must stress that there will be no access to the event for non-ticketholders.

• Barnes & Noble reserves the right to make new rules and orders in its sole discretion with regard to COVID-19 at any time and any person not abiding by the Barnes & Noble directives will be refused entrance or directed to leave the premises.

**Tickets are $25 PER PERSON and include the choice of one book (selected at the time of purchase) and an exclusive poster signed by Tui T. Sutherland. Tickets will not be sold at the door on the event day.

**There are four book options to choose from at check-out:

Please be advised that children should attend with adult supervision. Staff present are there to run the event, not supervise individual children.

• Due to health and safety and space limitations, those without a ticket will not be permitted into the event space.

THE EXPERIENCE​

Guest Event Check In

At check-in, each FanWing will receive a colored bracelet that denotes their meet and greet time, one of four books chosen at the time of ticket purchase, and a signed poster. They will also receive a booklet that outlines the day’s festivities.

Pyrrhia Stage Programming​

Programming will include interactive game shows, a presentation from Tui T. Sutherland, the author of the Wings of Fire series, and a costume parade that is open to any FanWing that wants to show off their creativity!

Author Photo Op​

FanWings will be assigned a colored wristband at check-in that corresponds to a designated time slot for their photo op with Tui T. Sutherland. Each FanWing will have the chance to capture (1) personal photo before rejoining the festivities!​

Interactive Activities​

The festival is divided into immersive zones. FanWings can explore and engage in hands-on activities inspired by the world of Wings of Fire!

Check-in begins at 9 AM. The day ends at 5 PM.

A final schedule will be posted at the venue the day of the event.

• No memorabilia or books will be signed at the event. Other books by the author and merchandise will be for sale at the event. There will be no signing at the event.
• There will be a photo opportunity with Tui T. Sutherland. This will be organized by which group you are sorted into at check-in. The first group begins their session at 10 AM.

• No large bags will be permitted into the event. Strollers are permitted.

• Ticket holders will be admitted into the event beginning at 9AM the day of the event. Please have a copy of your ticket available (either printed out or on your phone) for check in.

• We recommend arriving by 10AM to ensure you do not miss any planned activities. You may arrive throughout the day but may not have the opportunity to participate in earlier group activities.

• All event guidelines are subject to change.

Attendees can receive refunds up to 1 day (24 HOURS) before your event start TIME.

If you are unable to attend the event, will hold your book for seven days after the event. Please contact the store to arrange your pickup.

Should this event be canceled due to changing COVID-19 concerns, all customers will be refunded their ticket price to the original method of payment per Eventbrite's refund policy.
