Learn how responsible research and innovation (RRI) in AI can be promoted by playing cards
About this Event

Responsible research and innovation (RRI) in AI is crucial for ensuring that technology benefits society without causing harm. It's like having a moral compass guiding AI development. RRI emphasizes values like fairness, privacy, and accountability, making sure AI systems treat everyone fairly and respect privacy rights. By involving diverse voices, including researchers, policymakers, and the public, RRI ensures AI reflects societal needs and concerns. This approach helps prevent biases and discriminatory outcomes, making AI more inclusive, trustworthy and acceptable.

During this workshop participants will engage with RRI tools, including the RRI Prompt and Practice Cards and learn how these tools can ensure that AI serves humanity's best interests, contributing positively to our lives while minimizing any potential negative impacts.

She has led the RRI work of several projects within Horizon DER and TAS programmes, and had a key role developing a tool to support responsible innovation practice: RRI Prompts and Practice Cards. Virginia’s areas of interest include: embedded RRI in the design and governance of autonomous systems; trustworthy AI; transparency and data privacy; policy impact; outreach and public engagement.
