Trust Your Cards: Intuitive Beginner Tarot Workshop at Son of a Sailor

Curious about tarot but don't know where to start? This hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop is designed to help you tap into your intuition and explore tarot as a powerful tool for self-awareness and reflection. In 2 hours, you'll learn the history and structure of the Rider-Waite deck, dive into symbolism, numerology, and elemental associations, and practice reading cards through two interactive activities — including a partner-based 3-card reading practicum. Whether you've never touched a deck or just want a solid foundation, you'll leave with confidence, community, and the tools to keep building the muscle. Bring a friend or come solo - either way, trust your cards.
What to Expect: You'll begin with an intention-setting opening, move through an engaging introduction to tarot's history and structure, explore the Major and Minor Arcana, learn how to connect with your deck, and practice solo and partner readings in a supportive group setting. The workshop closes with a Q&A, recommended resources, and a collective closing ceremony.

A minimum of 5 participants is required for this event to take place. If the minimum is not met, attendees will be contacted and automatically issued a refund.
A tarot deck is required to participate. Please bring your own or plan to purchase one during the event. Tarot decks are available for purchase during the workshop at 10% off and include some special accessories just for workshop attendees.
