About this Event
The Reunion Project, the alliance of HIV long-term survivors, will be hosting our next peer-led community convening in San Francisco, themed "We’re Still Here: Honoring Every Voice, Every Journey," on Friday and Saturday, February 13 & 14 at 940 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 9410.
Activities on both days will be held between 9am-5pm with sessions and community discussions addressing the health, wellness, quality of life, and employment concerns of individuals living in the San Francisco Bay Area area.
Day one, Friday, February 13, will be a forum for people living and aging with HIV interested in considering the full spectrum of options for meaningful activity from volunteering to training and education to employment or self-employment. Sessions will explore strategies and experiences of community members related to employment and volunteering, key programs and resources to consider utilizing, what to know about working while enrolled in public benefits, and opportunities to talk one-on-one with representatives from vital Bay Area and statewide programs and resources, and connections with other community members considering future options for work, volunteering, and/or education.
Day two, Saturday, February 14, will connect HIV long-term survivors through story-telling and informative workshops. Attendees will learn how to live and age well with HIV. The day will feature a mix of facilitated discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities, all aimed at addressing the unique needs of long-term survivors and individuals aging with HIV in the San Fransisco Bay area. We will also hear from attendees what the needs are for HIV long-term survivors in their area.
Both events will be held from 9am-5pm.
The event is free, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
