Bring a miniature tropical forest into your home! You will create your own self-contained glass ecosystem with moss, ferns, tropical plants
About this Event

Bring a miniature tropical forest into your home! In this Tropical Moss Terrarium Workshop, participants will create their own self-contained glass ecosystem featuring lush mosses, ferns, and other tropical plants. This hands-on workshop combines creativity, nature exploration, and indoor gardening for a truly unique experience.

During the 2 hour session, you will learn:

  • How a tropical moss terrarium functions as a small ecosystem
  • Differences between open vs. closed terrariums
  • Proper layering, soil, and drainage techniques
  • How to select and care for tropical mosses and plants
  • Creative design and composition tips to make your terrarium visually stunning

Your workshop kit includes:

  • 14” large glass bowl
  • 3 assorted succulents
  • Soil substrate
  • Natural stones
  • Assorted colored moss
  • Wood logs

If you have specific decorative items—figurines, small statues, driftwood, sea glass, or unique stones—please feel free to bring them.

The workshop begins with a short introduction and demonstration, followed by hands-on building time where you will assemble your own terrarium step by step, guided by the instructor.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a completed tropical moss terrarium, the skills to maintain it, and inspiration to bring a bit of lush greenery indoors.

Absolutely no experience is required.

This class is hands-on in a covered outdoor space, so dress for the weather in clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and prepare to enjoy some education and creativity!

Absolutely no experience is required.

Workshop space is limited to 10 to ensure individual guidance.
