Bring a miniature tropical forest into your home! In this Tropical Moss Terrarium Workshop, participants will create their own self-contained glass ecosystem featuring lush mosses, ferns, and other tropical plants. This hands-on workshop combines creativity, nature exploration, and indoor gardening for a truly unique experience.
During the 2 hour session, you will learn:
- How a tropical moss terrarium functions as a small ecosystem
- Differences between open vs. closed terrariums
- Proper layering, soil, and drainage techniques
- How to select and care for tropical mosses and plants
- Creative design and composition tips to make your terrarium visually stunning
Your workshop kit includes:
- 14” large glass bowl
- 3 assorted succulents
- Soil substrate
- Natural stones
- Assorted colored moss
- Wood logs
If you have specific decorative items—figurines, small statues, driftwood, sea glass, or unique stones—please feel free to bring them.
The workshop begins with a short introduction and demonstration, followed by hands-on building time where you will assemble your own terrarium step by step, guided by the instructor.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a completed tropical moss terrarium, the skills to maintain it, and inspiration to bring a bit of lush greenery indoors.
Absolutely no experience is required.
This class is hands-on in a covered outdoor space, so dress for the weather in clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty and prepare to enjoy some education and creativity!
