Tribute to Metallica ft. Sceptr3 (From Mumbai) Sceptre is a Heavy/Thrash metal band from Mumbai, India formed in December 1998. They draw their influences mainly from Thrash Metal stalwarts like Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura etc apart from Classic Rock acts and Modern Rock. They became very popular after winning the prestigious Independence Rock competition in 2003 and subsequently headlining gigs all over the country. Apart from Mumbai they have headlined numerous gigs in various colleges in and around : Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Goa, Hyderabad, Manipal, Panvel, Pondicherry, Silchar, Guwahati, Pune, etc. There have been numerous line up changes to the current version Sceptre 3.0 a.k.a Sceptr3 Know your Band: Teemeer Chimulkar - Vocals & Lead Guitar Gilroy Fernandes - Rhythm Guitar Deep Menon - Drums Aabhaas Tomar - Bass Their music slips most comfortably into the thrash-metal genre. There’s angst and there’s aggression, there’s rebellion and there’s revolution. Disillusionment giving way to verbal attack, all a backlash at life`s cesspool! OR To put it plainly, its Teemeer, writing (read ranting) about all the dirt under the carpet. Very punk-ish themes combined with super -fast riffs. This might be one of the reasons why they warm up to the metal-loving crowds instantly. The Single "Lost Empire" was featured on the Deep Throat CD released by Throatlatch records. Another single "Nuclear" was on the FOK album a compilation of songs by Mumbai bands by Hangar Records. "Revolution" was featured on FOK-3 by Hangar Records. Their hot selling self-titled EP containing 4 songs had made an impact on the Mumbai rock scene in 2005. They released their first full length album NOW OR NEVER under the COUNTER CULTURE RECORDS Label in June 2008.
