Treeverse Waiheke - Climb the Tree to see the Worldis in its simplest form the idea to connect people around trees and tree climbing and learn more about it over a weekend ;)
This year it will consist out of three different major parts.
Part 1: A tree climbing introduction for everyone (kids and adults) interested to try and climb a tree on a rope like an Arborist.
(Saturday 12.04. (10am -2pm)
Part 2 (all day Saturday): For professional Arborists an Open Masters Team Treeverse Competition. Idea is a work climb over multiple trees organized and communicated with a team partner the goal is to climb a "parcour" in the fastest possible time.
It's all about team work, so I hope to have some help to set the parcour up. In best case we have a few teams and every team is responsible for one tree beforehand to set up a hard parcour in their tree and in the end it gets combined with the trees of the other teams. It's the first team tree comp I have heard of and might be just a dumb idea but Team Work makes the Dream Work or so - in the end it's just about having fun in the trees.
Part 3(Saturday evening and Sunday): Exploring and enjoying some cool trees in Waiheke Island and set up a Canopy Camp for the night and overnight in a tree and watch some tree movies.
Dream part: Still hope for a TreeVeresting and set up a team record of climbing the height of Mt. Everest in 24h in Trees - again just for fun ;)
It would be great to see some Arborists and Tree Enthusiasts for a weekend of Tree climbing on Waiheke.
If you have any questions, ideas, suggestions please don't hesitate to get in contact!
Cheers, Hajo
