April will see SOLO return to the stage for another year of talented solo performances by new and old faces.Come along and experience short plays written and performed by local artists. The line up is as follows...
Nadi Halberg, writer and performer of "Silver" - an ode to the lost, a poignant memoir from child to father. Traveling the complexities of love and loss, this short play is a series of moments about the evolution of relationships.
Elsa Gibberd, writer and performer of "Talks with a Homeless Man". A young adult meets a homeless man, Todd, on their way home from work. As their friendship builds, we get glimpses into the moments that unravelled Todd.
Issy Ciano, performer of "A Feminist Fairytale", written by Kara Veugelers. An up and coming actor tires of the narratives of the characters they're forced into, so they decide to write their own.
Zach Boyd, writer and performer of "Rhinestone Kidney Stone and Stone Fruit Gift Basket" - a science fiction self-love story, following Jim, a middle aged country songwriter and vacuum cleaner salesman gracefully bumbling through a basketful of internal and external crises.
Stephen Hollins, performing "The Wolf I Feed", inspired by a poem written by Stephen and a multimedia installation by Bobi Lauper Tisch. The incorporation of visuals, word, and physicality demonstrates the process of acknowledging and embracing the darker aspects of oneself through conscious engagement and acceptance. It offers us a mirror of ourselves, and society, as thoughts come alive.
Kayla Hamilton, writing and performing a piece yet untitled.
