The TREEmendous Initiative focuses on a $1,181,667 Community Greening Transformation grant recently awarded to the City by the Texas A&M Forest Service. This funding will facilitate the planting and giveaway of 5,000 trees throughout Longview to restore a canopy severely impacted by years of drought and extreme weather.
You must register (use ticket link) to attend the event to receive a tree and be a City of Longview resident. Species selection availability is based on a first come, first serve basis. The event is limited to only 150 trees.
Tree species are:
Lacebark elm
Pond cypress
Chinese pistache
Savannah holly
Chinkapin oak
Events are held on the Great Lawn of the Longview Arboretum. Please use the West Entrance in the Convention Complex Parking Lot.
