About this Event
You're invited to a collaborative community event celebrating the beauty and reflective awe of trees and nature through introspective observation, study and thought through the art of writing enhanced with soothing soulful soundscapes.
Our human connection to trees is long and heart-felt, and even though we have destroyed forests, trees remain a resurrective force, healing the land and providing essential resources. But what about the psychological and even spiritual connection between humans and trees? You're invited to experience inspirational readings of tree poems by acclaimed, award winning author Anne-Marie Oomen and Soul Stirring Soundscapes by Crystal Woodward-Turner along with the observation of cross cut prints of tree-ring circles as a springboard for writing. The prints will be taken primarily from the book Woodcut by Bryan Nash Gill, and will offer a range of expressions that may be used as a Rorschach for our relationship with the natural world. We will study, discuss, observe, address and express in writing our own circling, deepening and healing connections with the natural world, particularly with trees.
ALL are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Simple supplies are included. Please feel free to bring your personal journals, notebooks and/or any other materials and supplies that may positively enhance your writing experience. Hope to see you there!
