This 15-hour training is an introductory program designed for certified Yoga Teachers, mental health professionals, and anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of trauma and the use of Yoga as a healing modality.

The course holds the lens of liberation and centers the process of decolonizing trauma work and the practice and teachings of Yoga to increase social equity in Yoga and mental health services.
Participants will gain insight and wisdom into cultivating trauma-conscious relationships within their communities that are culturally responsive. Through guided discussions, dynamic and interactive learning, movement and breath-work, attendees will walk away with an expanded awareness on how to best support personal and collective healing.
Open to Yoga teachers and students and mental healthcare workers. Six months of previous Yoga practice is recommended, but not required. You do not need to be a Yoga teacher to attend this training.
Curriculum
� Define trauma, stress, and the three states of arousal as described in Polyvagal theory.
� Identify and learn current practices in Yoga therapy for trauma and stress.
� Identify and understand social justice in Yoga (i.e., implicit bias, systemic trauma, cultural appropriation vs appreciation)
� Define and learn strategies to better manage stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and vicarious trauma with 10 practical tools for self-care.
� Be able to integrate a trauma-conscious lifestyle.
Training Hours
� Friday, 6:00pm-8:00pm
� Saturday, 1pm-6:30pm (w/ 30min break)
� Sunday, 12pm-5:30pm (w/ 30min break)
12 contact hours + 3 non-contact hours (home study)
