Dr. Leah Merle is a dedicated Counselor Educator with a fervent enthusiasm for training and guiding emerging clinicians in addition to front-line mental health workers. She's a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) in the state of Washington.
Through her expertise, she offers comprehensive trainings and is available for impactful speaking engagements. Her approach thrives on trust-driven collaboration, blending empathy and direct communication for optimal success. With specialized training in attachment wounds and trauma-informed care, Dr Leah's broad experience is diverse and spans across mental health and the addictions field, encompassing adults, adolescents, children, and families.
As a doctoral-level clinician, she employs an integrative approach to assist clients in navigating their challenges. Dr Leah takes immense pride in delivering culturally competent and trauma-informed services and trainings, both through her own therapeutic work and by nurturing the clinicians under her supervision. Influenced by attachment theory and a person-centered orientation, which is anchored in a trauma-focused perspective.
Dr. Leah's toolkit includes solution-focused and strength-based perspectives, complemented by the use of creative arts and mindfulness interventions. With extensive experience in mental health counseling, approved clinical counseling supervision, counselor education, training, and consulting, alongside her adeptness in public speaking, she is committed to fostering growth and healing in diverse communities.
Dr Leah is Faculty at Antioch University in Seattle as well as the owner-operator of Dr Leah International PLLC, in Yakima, WA.
