Did someone say LITTER BINGO? Prizes? Neighborhood beautification?
About this Event

Come join the Cleanup Club as we give our city streets, sidewalks and green spaces some much needed TLC by removing trash. Join us as we strive to beat our 2023 record of removing 904 bags and nearly 8,000 lbs of trash from our community! West Town and West Loop--We're coming for yor next....and this time, we've brought back our LITTER BINGO with some fancy prizes courtesy of Grant Thornton.

Date: Friday, May 17th

Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Location: We'll be meeting in the parking lot of District Brew Yards at Ashland Ave & Kinzie St.

Social Outing: While we are not officially organizing a social outing, word on the street is that District Brew Yards has a pretty sweet patio. And food. And maybe libations to celebrate your efforts (21+).

Supplies & What To Bring: We will provide grabbers, bags, and gloves. We recommend that everyone please bring their own 5 gallon bucket, water, plus trash grabbers and gloves (if you have your own). Please dress appropriately for the weather. We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes, clothing that does not snag easily, and bringing a bag to carry water and sunscreen so your hands can remain free.

How to Get There: As we are an environmental organization, we strongly encourage taking public transit, walking, or biking to the event if possible. Additionally, there is minimal parking at this location, so if you do bring a car, please allow extra time to find parking and walk over.

PLEASE NOTE:

To fully register for the event, we will need your first name, last name, email address, and answers to both of our custom questions. If your registration is incomplete, it will be canceled. Thank you in advance!

By registering for this event, you are agreeing to the following rules and waiver:

Safety First: Wear durable, appropriate footwear that you don't mind getting dirty. If you find any items that present a biohazard, such as needles, please leave them, as we don't want anything poking through a bag and injuring someone. We also recommend avoiding broken glass. Do not do anything that you feel uncomfortable with or that puts you in danger.

Kids and Dogs: The minimum age for participation is 8 years old, and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. You are responsible for you and your child's safety. Additionally, we ask that you do not bring your dogs to cleanups.

Photograph and Video Waiver: Photographs and videos are taken at the cleanups and include participants. They are typically used on social media, but may also be used for marketing or promotional purposes. If you do not wish to have photo/video taken of you, then you are responsible for letting the leaders of each individual cleanup know and we will do our best to avoid taking photos and video with you in it. We cannot guarantee that you will not be in the background of any photos or video. Therefore, all participants must consent that any photographs or video taken of them or their minor, purposefully or inadvertently, can be used on social media and/or for marketing and promotional purposes by the Cleanup Club or any affiliated groups.

COVID-19 Precautions: COVID-19 is a highly contagious, communicable disease. We require everyone to follow the current CDC guidelines on mask wearing and social distancing at our cleanups. As we cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19, we recommend that masks be worn at all times as a preventative measure. Additionally, we will be capping the number of participants based on the current coronavirus restrictions.

Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk: You are completely responsible for your own safety - please pay attention at all times and avoid any areas or items that are hazardous. By participating in any of the Cleanup Club events and/or allowing a minor (under the age of 18) to participate for which you have legal responsibility as a parent or guardian, YOU ARE HEREBY VOLUNTARILY CONSENTING TO SUCH PARTICIPATION, and on behalf of yourself, your heirs, assigns, and next of kin, RELEASING AND HOLDING HARMLESS the Cleanup Club or any affiliated organizations and its administrators, members, agents, employees, associated personnel, other participants, sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“RELEASEES”), from any and all claims, demands, losses, and liability arising out of or related to any ILLNESS, INJURY, DISABILITY OR DEATH, THEFT, OR LOSS you may suffer, WHETHER ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

By registering for this event, you attest:

“I have read the rules and fully understand and agree to them freely and voluntarily without any inducement, including but not limited to the Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk set forth herein above. Additionally, I consent that any photographs that are taken of me while attending an event can be used for social media, marketing and/or promotional purposes by the Cleanup Club or any affiliated organizations.”

Cancellation Policy: If for any reason you decide you cannot attend this event after signing up, PLEASE cancel your registration. This allows us to open up spaces for other people, and get a more accurate estimate of how many volunteers will be attending.

Please email us at if you have any further questions. Please follow our for other cleanup events. We look forward to seeing you there!
