One of the highlights of the festival is a show with “Irmãs de Pau”, a Brazilian musical duo of Isma and Vita, who musically construct (and deconstruct) narratives about what it means to be trans. The Trans Pride Festival is made by and for trans people, specially.

Originating from the Afro and Latin-American trans, drag, and LGBTQIA* community of the 60s and 70s in New York, the ballroom scene where »The Met Ball« is held serves as a vital cultural and community hub. Embraced particularly by BIPOC and queer individuals, ballroom offers a sanctuary where creativity and self-expression thrive. It acts as a platform for queer individuals to authentically showcase their true selves, fostering a space where diversity and individuality are celebrated.
Founded in 1982, the Royal House of Xtravaganza is one of the most publicly recognized "houses" to emerge from the New York City underground ballroom scene and among the longest continuously active. The House of Xtravaganza is recognized for their cultural influence in the areas of dance, music, visual arts, nightlife, fashion, and community activism. The House of Xtravaganza family continue to be featured in popular media and travel the world as ambassadors of the ballroom scene.
The Iconic House of Ninja is a ballroom house created in 1982 by Willi Ninja, known as the "Godfather of Vogue", along with Sandy Apollonia Ninja. Willi chose the surname "Ninja" because he had a passion for Asian and martial-arts culture. He allowed members of all races and identities to join the House of Ninja, which made it the most inclusive and multi-racial house in the ballroom of its time.
The Met Gala, also known as the Met Ball, is hailed as the pinnacle of elegance and sophistication in the fashion world, earning the title of "fashion's grandest soirée". This prestigious annual event is held to raise funds for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. A select group of influential individuals from various fields such as fashion, entertainment, business, sports, and politics are invited to partake in this glamorous affair, showcasing their cultural relevance in contemporary society.
This year on September 14 2024 for the first time in Berlin, Germany hosted by the Royal House of Xtravaganza and the Iconic House of Ninja, the Met Ball pays tribute to the luminaries of art and fashion, inviting guests to revel in the emotive power and artistic allure that captivates those with a keen eye for beauty and creativity. Tonight, you are our special guest joining us to celebrate the intersection of art and fashion in all its splendor along Icons and Legends on the panel from ballroom.

FACE (?FQ/?FF/?DARK & LOVELY/?TM/?BQ/?GNC):
RIHANNA
Rihanna certainly knows how to make an entrance at the Met Gala. It's an art she's fine-tuned over the years. Her very first appearance at the lauded ode to fashion was at 2009's staging, which celebrated the exhibition “The Model As Muse: Embodying Fashion. From there, an impressive streak of viral outfits have been delivered and most recently culminated in her highly-anticipated (and long-awaited) arrival at 2023's celebration of the exhibition, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” To all the FACE CARDS be inspired by Rihanna's best Met Gala red carpet looks throughout the years and make your mark at the Met Ball.

BLACK HAIR MAGIC ? (THIS CATEGORY IS ONLY FOR BLACK PEOPLE):
SHANI CROWE
Shani Crowe is an interdisciplinary artist who received her BFA in film production from Howard University’s John H. Johnson School of Communications in 2011. Her work centers on cultural coiffure, adornment and beauty ritual, as they relate to the diasporic African, and how these practices function as tools to foster connectivity. She is most known for creating intricate corn-rowed hairstyles, then capturing them as large photographic portraits. Be inspired by Shani's adornment and make your stand at the function.

RUNWAY OTA (?EUROPEAN/?AA/?BIG, BOLD & BEAUTIFUL):
JANELLE MONAE
Janelle Monae is an American singer and actress known for taking big risks with her choice of style, often choosing playful accessories, voluminous pieces, experimental ensembles to make a fashion statement at the Met Gala. She is definitely not one to shy away from a hat. Be inspired by Janelle Monae’s infamous looks at the Met Gala and bring it to the runway to show the judges your sense of Fashion twist to it. Hat is mandatory.

RUNWAY WITH A TWIST OTA ?:
BILLY PORTER
Billy Porter doesn't merely walk a red carpet; he stages a performance. Since being catapulted into the limelight with his Emmy Award–winning role in Pose, the actor-slash-singer has turned heads at every event he's attended, effectively changing the rules of propriety. He has shined in front of photographers flaunting gender-fluid ensembles—from voluminous ball gowns and feathered headpieces to embroidered capes and colorful suits that are unlike any other. Pick one of his memorable looks at the Met Gala and twist it on the floor.

FASHION KILLA OTA ?:
YAYOI KUSAMA
Tonight you are wearing Yayoi Kusama at the Met Ball. Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary artist who works primarily in sculpture and installation, and is also active in painting, performance, video art, fashion, poetry, fiction, and other arts. Her work is based on conceptual art and shows attributes of feminism, minimalism, surrealism, Art Brut, pop art, and abstract expressionism. Incorporate the element of dots as much as you can into your look from head to toe and stunt the runway.

REALNESS AS A COUPLE (?FQ/?TM):
GUSTAV KLIMT
The Kiss is an oil-on-canvas painting with added gold leaf, silver and platinum by the Austrian Symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. It was painted at some point in 1907 and 1908, during the height of what scholars call his "Golden Period". It was exhibited in 1908 under the title Liebespaar as stated in the catalogue of the exhibition. The painting depicts a couple embracing each other, their bodies entwined in elaborate beautiful robes decorated in a style influenced by the contemporary Art Nouveau style and the organic forms of the earlier Arts and Crafts movement. Be the gold couple.

BEGINNERS PERFORMANCE OTA ?:
CARDI B
Name some of the best red carpet looks in the past decade, and Cardi B has to be on that list. In addition to being an important rapper (and quite the moneymaker), she has the kind of over-the-top style that delights both awards planning committees and haute couture fashion houses alike. In addition to multiple appearances at top ceremonies like the Grammys, Oscar party, and Met Gala, she's also been a regular at Paris Fashion Week for the past couple of years. For beginners performance choose one of her looks to slay.

OLD WAY OTA ?:
LIL NAS X
Lil Nas X is known for taking risks when it comes to his Met Gala looks. In 2021 for the Met Gala, the musician wore three custom Versace outfits. He arrived in a flowing, regal-inspired cloak before shedding it to show off a gold, gilded armor like that of a knight, then removing that to reveal a sparkling, gold form fitting bodysuit. Lil Nas X is the only way tonight for the old way.

NEW WAY OTA ?:
NIA DENNIS
The Met Gala is known for theatrical arrivals, but only one attendee hands-free-cartwheeled into In America: Lexicon of Fashion accompanied by the booming Brooklyn United Marching Band: gymnast Nia Dennis, best known for her groundbreaking Beyoncé and Black Lives Matter-themed floor routines while a student at UCLA. Bring her energy and make a fabulous entrance for your 10’s. Make sure your bodysuit is Met Gala level.

VOGUE FEMME (?FQ/?FF/?GNC/?BQ/?DRAG):
LAVERNE COX
Laverne Cox has emerged as a tireless advocate for the LGBTQA+ community. A prominent actress and the first openly transgender person nominated for an Emmy. The category is: DRAMA! At the Met Gala in 2019, she was doing what needed to be done, darling. Now it’s your turn to do what needs to be done to show the judges what you have.

ARMS CONTROL OTA ?:
LADY GAGA
Lady Gaga's iconic looks are undeniable. Feel free to have a look at all her outfits on the red carpet. We want to see the strangeness of one of her looks.

HANDS OTA ?:
DOJA CAT
Catwoman at the Met Gala? The answer: Doja Cat. Not that much of a surprise though. Show your claws.

BODY (?FQ/?FF/?TM/?BQ/?GNC):
JEAN MICHEL BASQUIAT
Jean-Michel Basquiat was an American black artist who rose to success during the 1980s as part of the Neo-expressionism movement. We want to see your body painted with a Basquiat reference.

SEX SIREN (?FQ/?FF/?TM/?BQ/?GNC):
KIM KARDASHIAN
The Kardashians have been at the center of reality television since 2007. Over the years, Kim Kardashian has branched out to make a name for herself as an entrepreneur and fashion mogul, always keeping sexy and cool. Name a celebrity who wears more revealing outfits—what we like to call "naked dresses"—than Kim Kardashian. Make a reveal and show some skin inspired by her.

LIP SYNC OTA ?
ELEGANZA XTRAVAGANZA
Calling out to all the Berlin/ Germany/ Europe's Drag Queens, Kings, Quings, Show Girls & all Creatures - tonight here is your chance to put on a show and Lip Sync for your Moment. Participants are expected to send in a track of their choice to Lip Sync (It can be anything up to your creativity from classics, RnB, Hip Hop, to your own cultural hits or a fusion of different tracks).
