About this Event

LGBT Health and Wellbeing in partnership with the Talbot Rice Gallery invites trans and non-binary people to come and enjoy the current exhibition, followed by a creative session in the gallery.

Talbot Rice Gallery is a renowned contemporary art gallery in the heart of Edinburgh. Join us for a tour, followed by a creative session inspired by one of the artworks!

LGBT Health and Wellbeing in partnership with the Talbot Rice Gallery invites trans and non-binary people to come and enjoy the current exhibition Scottish Mission Book Depot Keta by artist El Anatsui, followed by a creative session.

Talbot Rice Gallery is a renowned contemporary art gallery in the heart of Edinburgh. Join us for a tour the most significant exploration of one of Africa's most prominent artists ever staged in the UK. El Anatsui create magic out of found objects. He is well known for his artworks created through the stitching-together of thousands of aluminium bottle tops, reclaimed from Ghanaian and Nigerian liquor bottling (and increasingly printing-press) industries.

The session will last 90min, starting with an introduction to the exhibition and followed by a creative session making our own art piece using recycled materials, inspired by Anatsui’s shapes, colours and forms’



Who we welcome

Please note, this event is for trans and non-binary people (16+) only.

We also welcome people who are questioning/exploring their gender identity.



Registration

Spaces are limited to 15 people so we need you to register in advance.

Please use this Eventbrite form to register. Registration is for 1 person only. If you wish to book for someone, please make another registration using their name. After registration, you will receive a confirmation email.

Access

The event is hosted at Talbot Rice Gallery.

We will send more information about the venue after you register (in email confirmation).

♿ There is a level entrance to the gallery on West College Street with vehicle drop off point. Wheelchair can be loaned at no cost. Portable seats available for comfort if walking around the gallery. All floors of gallery are accessible via standard or platform lifts.

🚾 Accessible gender neutral toilet available.
