An associate artist with Maya Dance Theatre, she collaborates with Diverse Ability Dance Collective and mentors G-Star, a Down-syndrome dance group. Awarded Performing Arts Ambassador of Indonesia, Gigi’s latest touring work ALIH explores life, human connection, and mind-body unity. Her mission is to empower all through inclusive, expressive movement.

About Workshop

This workshop introduces Gigi's movement approach centers on connection, communication, and mutual responsiveness—inviting participants to explore how movement can bridge differences in bodies, perception, and expression as well as cultural exchange.

Through basic Indonesian traditional movement language, guided improvisation, sensory-based tasks, and partner/group explorations, dancers will learn tools for:

1. Building trust and dialogue through physical and non-verbal communication

2. Leaning new movement motives based on Indonesian dance movements

3.Expanding movement vocabulary using each person’s unique physical resources

4.Working collaboratively across diverse mobility, sensory, and cognitive experiences

5. Listening to one another’s presence, rhythm, and breath

6. Cultivating an inclusive creative environment where every body leads and responds.

This workshop celebrates dance as a shared language—fluid, adaptive, and deeply human. Experience a space where differences are sources of creativity, and where movement becomes a platform for genuine connection accompanied by the beautiful and richness of Indonesian music.
