About this Event
Jazz dance is a low to high-energy, versatile dance style born from African American vernacular traditions, blending African rhythms and European techniques, characterized by its syncopated rhythms, body isolations (like the "jazz hands"), energetic kicks, leaps, and expressive improvisation, reflecting the spontaneity and complexity of jazz music. It's grounded yet dynamic, demanding strong technical foundations while encouraging personal style, evolving to incorporate influences from Broadway, hip-hop, pop, and contemporary music.
Each week we'll tackle a fun combination or mini-dance piece in a different style of jazz dance.
Open to all levels. (Recommended for Intermediate Beginners - Intermediate, or Advanced who just want Practice)
Each week you'll leave with renewed energy, something fun to show off should you choose to, more confidence overall and probably a smile on your face too.
This is an open to the entire community class and we encourage anyone interested to join in, reservations are required however as we have a limited space.
