The series concludes with a wonderful and historic old-time band from Galax, Virginia —the New Ballard's Branch Bogtrotters. 2026 marks their 40th year as an ensemble. Eddie Bond, the group's fiddler since 2001, was recently recognized with the National Heritage Fellowship, the nation’s highest honor that is bestowed on Traditional artists. While the band tends to stay close to home, their success has taken them to numerous international stages, including the Smithsonian Folk Festival, the Kennedy Center, and the Chicago Folk Festival.
