About this Event
Explore, create, and connect in nature's boundless playground. Our curated day events are designed to immerse you in the beauty of nature while igniting your creative spark.
Our November read is Gathering: Women Of Colour on Nature. This essay collection was written by women and non-binary people of colour across the UK including artists, scientists, poets, and community organisers.
In this book club session, we will discuss themes such as climate justice, environmentalism, queer ecology, colonialism, and QBIPOC identity in nature. This session will include a discussion on the book and a short visual poetry workshop with a break in between.
This is a slow paced activity. Light refreshments will be provided.
This workshop is facilitated by Tori from Touch Grass.

Accessibility
The nearest station is North Greenwich which has step free access. From there to the venue there's one set of steps in the street but there is a ramp option. The ground floor is accessible and has 1 accessible toilet with wheelchair space.
There are 2 steps down to the room we will be using. There is a foldout ramp available which has a 77cm clearance at the bottom of it to navigate the stone firepit in the room. The room we will be using has plenty of soft furnishings and seating.
About Touch Grass
Touch Grass is an outdoor community for queer women, trans and non-binary people of colour.
We are committed to fostering community growth through outdoor gatherings and wellness-focused trips that encourage us to rekindle our relationship with nature. Our immersive experiences go beyond relaxation—it's about empowerment, wellness, and forging meaningful connections.
Our vision is for queer people of colour to see the outdoors as a space where we belong. A Natural England study found that White people are 70% more likely than Black and Asian people to spend time in the countryside. We want to change this. We deserve to reap the benefits of improved emotional well-being and physical health too.
We believe creativity and nature go hand in hand, which is why most of our events encourage you to embrace nature and your inner creative spirit.
