Sending your work for publication can be an intimidating and confusing process. Demystify the world of literary journals in this 2-hour workshop! Participants will explore the Canadian and international markets available, learn how to prepare submissions, discuss strategies for placing work, and more. Plus resources writers can use to track submissions and strategies for dealing with rejection. Recommended for writers looking to publish poetry, short fiction, or personal essays.
Facilitator Bio
Joelle Kidd (she/her) is a writer and editor based in Tkaronto/Toronto. Her short fiction and essays have appeared in a variety of publications, including The Walrus, Lit Hub, PRISM International, Prairie Fire, and This Magazine. She is an MFA candidate in creative writing at the University of Guelph, where she is working on her first novel. Her essay collection, Jesusland, is forthcoming from ECW Press in 2025.
