About this Event
The Toronto International Samba Reggae Festival kicks off with an explosive opening night celebrating the global energy and community spirit of samba reggae culture. Featuring special guests from Brazil alongside artists from Canada, France, and the diaspora, this one-night showcase brings together powerful percussion, dance, Afro-Brazilian rhythms, reggae influences, and carnival energy on the Lula Lounge stage.
The evening begins with performances by the dynamic drumming ensembles Tambores e Samba and Corcovado before the late-night all-star performance featuring Jahgun, Rainha VĂ¢nia Oliveira, Mestre Geraldo Marques, and Pato Irie. Expect massive grooves, vibrant costumes, dance, and an unforgettable atmosphere as the festival launches its fifth anniversary edition in Toronto.
Presented by TdotBatu Percussive Arts in collaboration with Lula Music and Arts and with support from Toronto Arts Council, Ontario Arts Council, Canada Council for the Arts and Canadian Heritage.
