About this Event
In the early 70's Rip Torn and Geraldine Page commisioned Muni Seroff to create a new translation of the Chekhov one act comedies The Bear and A Marriage Proposal. The three acted together in a stage version of the plays called Marraige and Money, directed by Torn in venues such as The Philidelphia's Playhouse in the Park, Westport Playhouse and the Corning Summer Theatre before being filmed for PBS under the name Hollywood Television Theater: Two by Chekhov.
Recently unearthed from the extensive Geraldine Page archives at Yale's Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the never before published translation has been freshly transcribed and ready to share.
Price for the reading is pay what you wish with a suggested donation of $20.
