P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Maggie Andersen to celebrate the release of her book : a Chicagoan’s coming-of-age memoir finds courage in the face of immense loss.
Maggie will be joined in conversation by Michael Patrick Thornton, who is currently playing Lucky in Waiting for Godot. Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Maggie will also sign copies ofher book.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Maggie Andersen is a Chicago-based writer who has published fiction and nonfiction in Electric Literature, Salt Hill, Blood Orange Review, DIAGRAM, the Laurel Review, CutBank, and the Los Angeles Review, among others. She is also Associate Professor of English at Dominican University and a founding company member at the Gift Theatre. No Stars in Jefferson Park is her debut memoir.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Award-winning actor, improviser, writer, and director Michael Patrick Thornton is a fearless storyteller whose work spans stage and screen. From acclaimed Broadway triumphs to film and television, Thornton brings depth and precision to every role. Known for captivating audiences worldwide, he continues to break boundaries as an artist whose creative vision extends far beyond acting. He is currently playing Lucky in Waiting for Godot, alongside Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, among numerous other stage and TV credits. Thornton has taught at Second City, Acting Studio Chicago, Black Box, Green Shirt Studio, Columbia College, DePaul, Roosevelt, and Northwestern University. He was the improvisation instructor at The School at Steppenwolf for a decade. He currently splits his time between New York City and Chicago.

- Doors open at 6:00pm, with the talk starting around 6:30pm.
- Books will be available for purchase at the event.
- General admission tickets cost $10.
- Cost of a book bundle ticket reflects the total cost of the feature event book plus a General Admission ticket (MSRP plus tax). Each book bundle ticket guarantees ticket holders one (1) copy of the feature event book.
- The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear.
