Saxophonist Tom Fell presents the Canberra launch of his debut album Mantra, featuring six original compositions performed by a quartet of leading Australian improvisers.Recorded in October 2025 at the ANU School of Music (with support from ArtsACT), Mantra brings together pianist Steve Barry (SYD), bassist Christopher Pound and drummer Nicholas McBride. The music moves between blues-inflected modern jazz and more open, contemplative forms.
This concert marks the first live presentation of the album as a complete work, with the quartet performing the music in a single continuous set.
