The Tim Whitehead Quartet will perform Personal Standards Vol.3 including work from Colour Beginnings and Turner and The Thames, settings of contemporary standards, and new tracks by Tim and David Gordon!
Tim may be joined by some surprise guests (including his daughter singer, guitarist and songwriter Hattie) from the music world to help him enjoy his birthday celebration!

Tim Whitehead - after winning The Greater London Arts Young Jazz Musician’s Award, Tim went on to tour and record in Europe with Ian Carr who called him “one of the most creative, exciting and passionate saxophonists in Europe “in the Rough Guide to Jazz.
He went on to win several awards for his work, including from the Leverhulme Trust, becoming the first musician artist in residence at Tate Britain where he wrote, recorded and premiered “Colour Beginnings” in response to JMW Turner’s work, which received 5 stars in the BBC Music Magazine. More recently he was commissioned to write and perform “Turner and The Thames” for the London Jazz Festival.
In 2025 he was commissioned with David Gordon to compose and perform “Air” with The Orchestra of the Swan at Warwick Theatre and led a performance of the work of Keith Jarrett and his European Quartet with way Out West at Jazz Cafe POSK. He was also a member of the groundbreaking jazz orchestra Loose Tubes, The Breakfast Band, Jim Mullen’s Meantime and founded the jazz collective Way Out West.
