Nearly two years ago, local filmmaker and friend Wil Weldon approached us about doing a documentary about The Old Ceremony on the occasion of our twenty-year anniversary as a band. The question he set out to answer: "what makes a band stay together for decades without the outward rewards of 'making it big'?" It has been an arduous journey (mostly for Wil!) but thanks to his dogged work and help from lots of other fine folks like Scott McVeigh, Misha Angrist, and Jim Haverkamp, this 40-min short documentary is done and will be screened for the first time at the Varsity Theatre in Chapel Hill Friday, May 1st. We will do a short stripped-down performance in the theater after the film. We would love to see you all there.
